Bye bye dear Sweden...

I think this pretty much tells it all...

"Sweden is to Finland what gasoline is to fire. Pour it on, and it'll explode. Get too close to it and you'll get burned." WCH2004.com

*dances* Yes, yes, yes! We got what we needed - a tie against the Swedes - and now where facing the Germans. The game was horrible. Horrible, but still amazing. It didn´t lack speed, ecxitement (my little heart cannot deal with another Finland vs. Sweden game... Seriously.), goals, offence, emotions, fights, tackles, penalties... I love how all of our Lions just fought with everything they got, and really poured their hearts on it. But hey, that´s nothing new when it comes to Team Finland. ;) Ville Peltonen - the Swedekiller (hence the World Championships @ 1995! A hattrick!) made the first goal of the game, Ossi Väänänen (he was finally able to play - yay!) made his first goal in his first shift (impressive much?), our Captain showed great example by sending the puck past Telly just after 19 seconds from Sweden´s goal and my dear 'äijä' Olli Jokinen scored once too. :D I was screaming and jumping up and down during all that! I <3 <3 <3 these guys beyond everything!

The Swedes just have to be the damn luckiest team in the whole tournament. I mean, who else can tie the game when there´s only 10 seconds left? Only they can, and only when they´re playing against us, I´m telling ya... I do applaude for the Swedes too, this game was played by heart for both of the teams. Too bad for the Swedes that we crushed Czechs and Germans, so we were victorious even with a tie. >;) Yeah, that´s how long I acctually managed to get past that 'neighbour hate' we got with the Swedes, lol.

Once again, the NHL refs SUCKED. It was very UNCOOL(FF´s rule!) how they sent all of us in the penalty box, but allowed the Swedes to do whatever they wanted. UNCOOL. And because the Swedes scored all (?) of their goals in PP, the refs costed us the game. Thank you muchos, assholes (mature, I know.). It felt like it was Kerry Fraser all over again...

Oh, and just one more profe of how hard our team worked; Teemu Selänne ducked right in front of the puck, and stopped it from going all the way to Kipper. HELLO! How many times have you seen Foppa or Sundin doing that?

There is a GREAT quote about Lehtonen and Kiprusoff at WCH2004.com!

"And for the Finnish fans, there would be no need to get nervous. On many other teams, Lehtonen would be a starter. But then again, no other team has Miikka Kiprusoff."

Nuff said!
